Spring has arrived, but this time it comes with questions. Across the land, bells ring to mark the turning of the season. Fires are rekindled in hearths long gone cold. Old banners are taken down and new ones raised in their place. People speak of renewal, of second chances, of leaving behind what no longer serves them. They speak of hope easily, as if hope has never betrayed anyone before. Yet not all rebirth is welcomed.
Some regrets survive the winter better than love ever does. Regrettable crushes; on people, on power, on ideals that once felt pure, stir again with the thaw. Letters never sent are reread. Names thought forgotten are spoken softly, just to see if they still have weight. There are smiles this season that mean more than they say and some that mean far less.
