MTG Winter Camps | Dec 27 & Jan 3
These one-day camps (one for veterans and one for beginners) provide campers with many of the gaming supplies they need to organize and care for their collections, lessons and strategies targeted to their experience level, and of course plenty of chances to crack open packs and play Magic with fresh, new cards!
Gamers of all levels are welcome to either camp! If your family's holiday schedule prevents your child from attending the camp that best matches their experience level, no problem! Camps are for kids ages 9 to 16.
The Beginner Camp - Dec 27 @ 11:30am
The Beginner Camp is best for kids who have never played Magic or who have just started to play. Campers will learn how to play a game from start to finish, how to identify the strengths, weaknesses, and common abilities of each Magic color and how to use this knowledge to their advantage, and how to build a balanced, functional deck from scratch. Campers will receive:
- Foundations Beginner Box
- Foundations Starter Collection
- 6x Foundations Play Boosters for a sealed event
- Deck boxes and sleeves
- Dice
- BCW 1600ct storage box
- Pizza!
The Veterans Camp - Jan 3 @ 11:30am
The Veterans Camp (Friday, January 3rd) is best for kids who know the basics and have played many games of Magic, but who are ready to take their skills to the next level. Campers will focus on identifying the proper balance of creatures, lands, removal, and bomb cards in a draft or sealed deck environment, how to identify and rank cards based on their casting cost, power, and toughness, the importance of evasive creatures, timing of combat tricks, tempo, and mana curve, and how to identify and use card advantage when building decks. Campers will receive:
- 6x Foundations Play Boosters for a sealed event
- 6x Duskmourn Play Boosters
- 3x MH3 Play Boosters for a draft!
- 6x Boosters from current sets of your choice!
