Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Spearhead League Spring 2025

About this experience

Spearhead is the single-box, skirmish-sized format for Fourth Edition Age of Sigmar that allows you to play the game out of a single Vanguard/Spearhead box. It's the perfect way to start learning or get familiar with a new army! 

Start Date: Saturday, March 22

End Date: Saturday, May 31

Format: Spearhead Fire & Jade

Rounds: 5 rounds! (Swiss-Tournament Structure)

Entry Fee: $15, OR free with any purchase of a Spearhead/Vanguard box from Common Ground Games until the start date of the league! (Please let the staff at the counter know if you're signing up with a Spearhead purchase!)

Prize support: Store credit prizing for top players based on the number of players.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd best in standings as well as the best painted Spearhead army will receive prizes.

Please feel free to bring your own Spearhead board, cards, or terrain if you can, but you can always use the store copy at Common Ground Games!

We will be playing 5 rounds over the course of 10 weeks! Every round you will be provided your pairings and need to work out a time with your opponent to play during that round.

We will be utilizing the Common Ground Games Discord in order to provide pairings, submit scores to the tournament organizer, and make announcements for this League. (Pairings for the league will be facilitated by BestCoastPairings.)

The 1st Round is March 22 to April 4..

The 2nd Round is April 5 to April 18.

The 3rd Round is April 19 to May 2.

The 4th Round is May 3 to May 16.

The 5th Round is May 17 to May 31.

This league is geared to get players comfortable with (or learn) the new rules and get people playing Age of Sigmar! To that end:

• Armies do NOT need to be painted, but it is encouraged! The best painted prize will not be relevant until the last weeks of the league, so feel free to paint them as you play your rounds!

• You do NOT need to build your models exactly as pictured on the box. Feel free to use conversions and kit bashes as long as they're made of Games Workshop plastic.

• You do NOT have to play the same Spearhead army for every round of the tournament. Feel free to mix it up! You will, however, only be able to present one army for best painted voting. (If you change Spearheads, you must notify the Tournament Organizer before your next pairing, for fairness.)

Players will adhere to the rules printed in the Fire & Jade Battleplan. New spearhead forces will be allowed if they release before the end of the League, and players should adhere to any errata or rules updates that affect their Spearhead rules.
